WELCOME TO GRIESEMOUNT…

We offer a chance to enjoy the hospitality that you would expect and hope to find if you stayed in an Irish Country House. Griesemount was built in 1817 by the Shakletons who were a well known Quaker family. We have  beautiful gardens which include a parterre and south facing Terrace which overlooks the River Griese. Inside each room is bursting with character, our drawing room is cosy with an open fire and breakfast is served in a beautiful sunroom with magnificent views down to the river and over the valley. We can cook dinner or a simple supper if needed and can sit 10 people easily at the round table in the dining room. Griesemount is less that an hour from Dublin and Kilkenny and only half an hour from the top of the Wicklow Gap. We have a host of good restaurants nearby including Rathsallagh House and Burtown Gardens are just up the road. Do come, relax and enjoy your stay.
